Have you wanted to try yoga but are worried that you are not flexible or strong enough? Have you gone to yoga but felt a little lost? Then this is the class for you! Come learn some of the basics of yoga in a gently paced, casual and welcoming environment with other beginners. Despite popular belief, you don't need to be a contortionist in order to experience the many benefits of yoga, which may include decreased stress, improved strength and balance, and a leaner body. We will cover the basics of safe and careful alignment, learn how to use yoga-specific props to suit your individual needs, and explore a few simple breathing techniques that can bring ease and release to body and mind. Start the New Year off right and explore the healthy benefits of yoga for yourself!

Jen originally began messing around with yoga simply to work out tight muscles from climbing and running. She happily discovered yoga is a deeply engaging practice and is continually amazed by the release, focus and energy it can provide in our daily lives. As a teacher she strives to provide students new to yoga with a positive 1st encounter and the chance to explore what it has to offer them as individuals. She earned her 200hr teacher certification from The Yoga Loft of Wilmington, Prenatal Certification with Om Births, and continues to study ways to bring mindfulness into daily practice. She earned her M.Ed. in curriculum development and has roughly two decades of experience teaching within the arts.
